Windham, Tolland and New London County legal documents, 1748-1816.

Primarily writs, but also estate records and testimonies issued by Justices of the Peace in numerous towns in eastern Connecticut, namely Windham, Tolland and New London counties, and one issued in Hartford County. Most of the cases were about debts, although a scattering concern more violent crimes. Documents are arranged alphabetically by the name of the town. The towns included are Bozrah, Brooklyn, Colchester, Coventry, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Hartford, Killingly, Lebanon, Lisbon, Mansfield, Montville, New London, Norwich, North Stonington, Pomfret, Plainfield, Preston, Saybrook, Stafford, Stonington, Windham and Woodstock. The most commonly mentioned Justices were Amos Gere, Silas Hawthorn, Benjamin Huntington, Andrew, George and Hezekiah Perkins, Asa Spalding, and James Stedman.
